Conferences, seminars and workshops

In our launch year, 2021, we co-hosted online seminars and lectures on “Lockdown Shakespeare: Transnational Explorations” (March), “Shakespeare and Mining in South Africa” (April) and “Carmelo Bene’s Shakespeare” (September). In 2022 we ran a series of in-person workshops for theatre makers, translators and educators.

The inaugural conference of the Tsikinya-Chaka Centre took place in May 2023 under the combined banner of the TCC and the Shakespeare Society of Southern Africa.

Check out our News, events and features page for more information about upcoming seminars and workshops, and for videos of past events.
